The miniature painting course, taught by Massimiliano Richiero, will explore some of the most advanced techniques in figurative painting, with a particular focus on painting skin tones with a brush, the Non-Metallic Metal (NMM) technique, and creating realistic textures on fabrics and leather.

The course will also cover fundamental topics related to color theory and the use of various painting materials, teaching participants how to make the most of acrylics, inks, and other types of paint. Participants will use Light Blender, the Velvet line, and Kimera acrylics, with the goal of developing an effective working method and achieving professional-quality results.

Course Syllabus

  • Color theory and pigment management;
  • Use and combination of acrylics and inks;
  • Advanced techniques for rendering skin tones, fabrics, and metallic elements using pure pigments, glazes, and washes.
  • Study and application of the Non-MetallicMetal (NMM) technique.
  • Creation of realistic textures on clothing, leather, and other materials.

The course includes:

  • 2-day workshop;
  • 1 “Vespera Kalix” bust by Black Bird Miniatures;
  • Use of Kimera and AK colors throughout the course;
  • Workstation with dedicated lighting.;
  • Breakfast on both days.
